  1. I tend to deep dive into subjects that interest or affect me, which also explains why most of the books I read are running related.
  2. Hoping that your jaw heals soon and that your work situation improves.
  3. I have been fortunate this past year; being able to run most of the year (1100+ running miles) and averaging around 24 miles a week now running 4x/week. Most of my runs have been easy runs with some pickups incorporated to give me a sense of speed, but no actual speed work. My oldest daughter that is staying with us got a golded retriever puppy this past summer. This has involved alot of training for the puppy and us, but has brought us alot of laughs and joy! Hopefully one day she will be joining me on some of my runs. I mentioned a while back that I was planning o

    The Shoes!

Sounds like a good decision to return those shoes. This past year I had my first black toenail and had increase my running shoe size by half a size. Back in high school iI wore a size 9 1/2 and now I am a size 11 1/2 or 12 for my running shoes.
  6. Happy New Year! Yes, and pie makes any day better.
  7. Hoping you feel better soon, now that you are back in Michigan with the fall weather.

    Odd October

Injuries stink! I Hope you and Christian heal well and recover fast. Wishing you well as a new masters runner.
  9. This past Sunday, Oct 25th I ran the Blarney Stone & Screaming Banshee Mashup Half Marathon which was a reschedule of the Blarney Stone Half Marathon that was cancelled in the Spring and combining it with the Screaming Banshee Half Marathon scheduled for Oct 25th. 3 friends and I from our running group had originally signed up for the spring Blarney Stone Half. The race had 3 start windows; 9-9:40am, 9:40-10:20am for the Half Marathon/10K/5K and an additional start window of 10:20-11am for the 10K and 5K. We had go online and enter our name on one of the start window tabs

    A Year in Review

Congratulations on child #2. I think that we all need to challenge ourselves and focus on learning and improving and not on where we were (maybe a little easier for me to say since I am older and getting slower). To just keep moving forward and it sounds like that's exactly what you're doing. Kudo's.
  11. Congratulations on your anniversary, and becoming a member of a parent of a teenager club 🙂.
  12. A 5am 20K TT to start your day, amazing.

    Hey, look. I'm running.

Glad to hear you're back running. I know strength/cross training is no fun, but I figure if it helps keep me running it is worth it.

    Starting up. Slowing down.

Unfortunately being a little bit hurt when we are older is alot different than being a little bit hurt when we were younger.
  15. Your run savvy and experience shows (not to mention craziness); great self pacing for both the 50K and 5K.
