  1. It’s been two weeks since my last entry. That’s longer than normal for me. One would think with the lockdown since mid-March, I’d have more time to be writing. Although, if I’m not doing anything, there’s not much to write about. I’m not a deep thinker. But I did run a 10K yesterday, as part of the Loop’s Covid-19 series of virtual races, so I should put that down. Last month I ran a half marathon, since I was about half way through my training for what was going to be the Sugarloaf Marathon in May. Lost my mojo for marathon training after that, so I haven’t been putting in the milea

  2. This should have been the DDDDC, but not for me. I asked my 2 grandsons if they wanted to run with me, and after quickly agreeing, the youngest one (Oliver) said we should be wearing costumes. The rest of us quickly agreed, and my daughter agreed to take the picture. Now if I'd known that Oliver was going to wear Spiderman, I'd have worn something else. Embarrassing or what. 3. Saturday .99 miles in 15minutes, 55 seconds. Sunday 1.19 miles in 17minutes, 17 seconds. Not bad for me considering I had no plan to run anytime soon. There I was mindlessly scrolling the FB feed when comment to a Loopville post grabbed my eye. Dave's Covid-19 double dog dare something something.... my mind was way too preoccupied with the crazy in our world today to go read the actual rules, so I made up my own. Run a mile on Saturday. Run a mile on Sunday. Stop if I feel any PF pain on either day. Bloop. I did it! I honestly thought my running career might be over.

  4. I'm finding it hard to get out the door these days, masked like a bandit and dodging from one sidewalk to another then on to the trails and running a sort of randomized cross-country for most of the way. It's just not appealing.. Sunday was my name day. Douglas isn't a Christian name so I had to find another for chrismation into the Orthodox church, picked Thomas for a number of reasons. The apostle Thomas gets a whole week of celebration beginning on St Thomas Sunday, the week after the resurrection when the doubter felt the wounds and believed. Name days are more important than birthday
