IT'S BACK!!!!! What I Learned from The Bachelor

Folks, it's that time of year and that means Janu-Arie has begun and there are 29 ladies and 1 bachelor that ABC is desperately trying to convince you is both very eligible and dating on national television for the right reasons.

So, basically he's there because his racing career never took off like his dad's did and being a realtor in Arizona isn't getting as many ladies sliding into his DM's these days.

There's a big difference in this year's What I Learned from The Bachelor series, because I'm no longer a single lady trying to navigate the world of dating! I've been happily swept off my feet (and he his), but eight months into this relationship, I'm sure there's still lots to learn, so this year I'm taking tips on how to keep my man happy. Let's dive in, shall we?

1. Be totally cool with him dating 28 other women.

2. Shower him with gifts, like elephant cuff links, a little wiener, a bumper sticker that says "nice butt", a gratitude rock and Mardis Gras beads.

3. Hair down, boobs out.

4. Show up on our first date in a classic convertible or a formula 1 race car. (SHIT! too late for this one)

5. Just assume everything with him is gonna be good.

6. Declare a peck on the lips THE BEST KISS EVER!!!!!!!

7. Feed him.

8. Give him a pedicure. It will make him think you are wild.

Fashion takeaway: Cutout dresses will get me roses

there are two parts of American culture that I don't understand- Trump people, and The Bachelor.

You are bridging that gap for me.  Thanks.

Glad to hear about the long term relationship!

And yes, feeding a man is always good.

Wasn't there something about a sexual assault on the last season? I thought for sure that would be the end of this.

The only way I'd watch the Bachelor would be if it became a murder mystery. But I enjoy your WILFTB posts.

There were allegations of misconduct between two very drunk cast members by a producer on the summer spin-off show. From what I read, both were too drunk to consent and the person raising the allegations was a producer who had second-hand information. The network did an investigation and cleared everyone and both cast members chose to not press charges, but yes, everyone still had a bit of an icky feeling about it. I'm not sure if it will come back this summer or not, but The Bachelor and The Bachelorette were never at risk for cancellation (because of this, anyway).

WILFTB has made it impossible for me to ever watch the show, because what I've built up in my head from these with no context is something the show could never live up to.

Unless Eleanor's tweet came to fruition. Then I'd watch.

Have any of the couples from The Bachelor/ette actually worked out?

Only one Bachelor has married his final pick (and they are of course the poster family for this show now). One Bachelor married his runner-up after he "broke up with" his final pick on After the Final Rose (go on YouTube and search Jason Mesnick Melissa Rycroft). Another handful of bachelors have dated their final picks for over a year. The Bachelorettes are the most successful - 3 marriages and two who are going on 2.5 and 1.5 years. And then there is the spin-offs, which have resulted in 3 marriages.

I know way too much about this show ....

Sorry to be late to the party, but Jordan just went back to NY yesterday, and I've been a little off my online routine.  Anyway, it's good to see WILFTB back!  (I see Melissa's novel failed to steer you away from reality shows...but then, what would we do for snark?).
